June 2026

June is packed with exciting updates, new programs, and important resources. Grab a cup of coffee and read on!

June is Men’s Mental Health Month, a time to recognize the importance of emotional well-being and encourage open conversations around mental health.

At Note-Able Music Therapy Services, we understand that self-expression looks different for everyone. Not all individuals feel comfortable communicating through words alone. Creative outlets such as music, movement, songwriting, and improvisation can offer meaningful ways to connect and express emotions in ways that feel natural and accessible. We love hearing comments from participants like Rick, who wrote, “When I first began [music therapy], I was super nervous because I have no experience. But after being in groups for a few weeks I feel comfortable, more confident, and I’m excited to try new things every time.”

Through music therapy and adaptive music experiences, NMTS strives to create welcoming spaces where individuals feel encouraged to participate authentically, build confidence, and connect with others through shared experiences. As Joey, one of the men in our recovery processing groups told us recently, “Music therapy groups let me be me by doing the best I can with what I got...and I’m learning that’s enough!”

A Record-Breaking Spring Recital

This year’s NMTS Spring Recital brought together our largest group of performers yet! Musicians, singers, songwriters, and dancers of all ages and abilities took the stage to share the work they have been preparing throughout the year.

As always, the recital featured an incredible range of talent and experience levels. Some participants performed in front of an audience for the very first time, while others returned to the stage with years of performance experience behind them. Every performance reflected the effort, individuality, and creativity that make the NMTS community so special.

Missed the recital or want to revisit some favorite moments? Performances from this year’s recital are available now on the NMTS YouTube channel.
