John has been releasing albums and performing in every type of venue you can imagine, touring in 49 of the 50 states and all over Europe. John's most recent album was named one of the 20 Best Albums of 2025 by KQED. After the performance, audience members will have the chance to ask questions and learn about the songwriting process.
This is a great opportunity to not only experience a great performance, but also learn from a successful singer/songwriter.

Led by NMTS music therapist, Sharon, and adaptive music instructor, Nate.
Come join us in creating spontaneous music! This is a great opportunity to connect with others in the community, have fun, express yourself, and relieve some stress. Drums will be provided or you’re welcome to bring your own.

Let’s work together! We are hosting a Fall Community Clean Up event and we need your help to pick up litter and refresh our shared public spaces. Join us to keep our space beautiful, safe and clean.
Whether you can stay for 30 minutes or the entire morning, every bit of help makes a huge difference for our environment and community pride.
Snacks, drinks and gloves will be provided! Families, neighbors and volunteers of all ages are welcome.

As part of Artown, Reno's month-long celebration of arts and culture, Note-Able Music Therapy Services invites you to enjoy a special midday performance featuring members of Local Vocals, the NMTS Senior Choir, and The Note-Ables band, followed by a performance from the NMTS Dance Troupe.

Friday Fun Night: Music & Art
Join us for an evening of music and collaborative art!
Participants will listen to different songs and use oil pastels to create art inspired by what the music makes them feel, imagine, or think of.
What colors does music bring to mind? Does it make you think of a certain place? What would the emotions you feel while listening look like?
After each song, participants will pass their board to the person next to them, creating shared, collaborative pieces of art. At the end, the group will talk about the experience, and everyone will get to take a piece of art home.
Event is from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm. Pick up is no later than 6:45 pm. This event is open to all ages and abilities. Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Silver Sneakers Workshop
Join us on May 20th at noon for a FREE Silver Sneakers workshop led by certified instructor Kim Franchi. Silver Sneakers is a fitness program designed for older adults and open to everyone, focusing on strength, mobility, and community connection. Spring Recital
We’re looking forward to our annual Spring Recital where musicians, singers, songwriters, and dancers will take the stage.
Each year there’s an eclectic mix of talent as performers share what they’ve been working on in their sessions with friends and family. Some will be taking the spotlight for the first time, while others have been performing for years, but all of them have been working hard to prepare for the recital.
This event is free to attend, with donations always appreciated.
The recital will take place in three sessions: 10:00–11:00 am, 11:30 am–12:30 pm, and 1:00–2:00 pm.

It’s time to shine!
Join us at NMTS for Karaoke Night—an evening of music, confidence, and community. Whether you’re ready to grab the mic and sing your favorite song or prefer to cheer on friends from the audience, this night is all about self-expression and support in a welcoming space.

Sound Bath with Nichole Schembre
Led by certified sound healer, Nichole Schembre. Enjoy a meditative experience that bathes you in sound waves produced by instruments such as crystal singing bowls, percussion, and chimes. Sound baths encourage a meditative state through the vibrations and frequencies of the instruments, which can lead to a release of tension and a feeling of calm. A great way to de-stress!
$10 per person suggested donation - Ages 12+ welcome
Registration and payment through THIS LINK - limited attendance. Walk-ins may be available, if there is room.
